Over 150 young basketball enthusiasts gathered in Rockford for the Elite Girls Basketball Camp, a one-day event led by WNBA standouts Courtney Vandersloot and Michaela Onyenwere. The camp provided girls from 4th to 12th grade an opportunity to learn directly from professional athletes.
Throughout the day, Vandersloot and Onyenwere actively engaged with the campers, running drills, offering personalized tips, and sharing insights into the dedication required to excel at the next level. The event concluded with a Q&A session, allowing participants to ask questions and hear firsthand about the players’ journeys in professional basketball.
The camp not only offered skill development but also served as a source of inspiration, demonstrating the possibilities within women’s basketball and the importance of mentorship in the sport.
